The correct way to see if you have the proper thickness throughout the concrete slab, (e.g. driveway, sidewalk, patio, etc.) before the pour is to measure the two ends at where the string is tied AND also the MIDDLE of the form area.
The MIDDLE of the form area is where a small difference, say, 5 inches as opposed to 4 inches, can cause a 20 percent difference in the amount of concrete needed. |
